Gite couldn’t believe it when she caught her first wave – she was really surfing! The experience gave her a new sense of achievement and confidence.

Jonas Van de Steene
Jonas Van de Steene, a seasoned hand bike competitor, had lived in Lanzarote for nearly a decade, but had never been out on the ocean.
One day, after receiving an unexpected call, he found himself at Famara Beach, ready to try surf kayaking for the first time, a sport that combines the thrill of surfing with the agility of kayaking.
With the help of Crazy DAVID from LanzAbility and Alessandro from Aò! Experience, Jonas was transferred from his wheelchair into a specially designed surf kayak and paddled out onto the waves.
What made the day truly unforgettable was Jonas’s remark:
“I’ve lived in Lanzarote for nearly ten years, and this is my first time out on the ocean at Famara Beach! Riding those waves, it was incredible!”

Trevor, who is totally blind, has always loved the water, especially the sound and movement of the waves.
When he tried stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) for the first time, he was guided by his companion’s instructions and the feel of the board beneath him.
“I never imagined I’d try SUP, but with the help of my companion and the U Can team, I felt the waves and experienced the thrill of paddling. My companion also gave it a go, and I think she was more scared of falling than I was!”

Do I need any prior experience in water sports to join?
Not at all! The camp is designed for all levels, from beginners to experienced participants. Our expert instructors will guide you every step of the way, ensuring you have a fun, safe, and supportive experience — no matter your previous experience.
Can I already reserve my spot at the camp?
You can reserve your spot by signing up for the waitlist to get priority access. Once you’re on the waitlist, you’ll receive early access to secure your place before it opens to the public. Remember, there are only 8 spots available — so act quickly!
What is (and isn’t) included in the camp?
The camp includes accessible accommodation, all adapted water sports activities with expert instructors, full access to equipment, transfers (to and from airport and activity locations), snacks & water on activity days, as well as professional photos, videos and drone footage.
Flights, meals, and other disability services, such as carers, are not included, as they vary based on individual needs and are arranged separately. LanzAbility will help you organise these, ensuring you have the flexibility to personalise your experience.
How do I arrange accessible flights?
An ABTA-bonded travel agent is on hand to help you with all your travel arrangements, including booking accessible flights at a convenient time and a fair price. Simply get in touch via LanzAbility.
What if I have a medical condition or disability that requires additional support?
Our team is committed to making the camp as inclusive as possible. If you have any specific medical conditions or requirements, please reach out to us before booking so we can discuss how we can accommodate your needs and ensure a safe, enjoyable experience.
What happens if the camp is full?
Once the 8 spots are filled, we won’t be able to accept further bookings. Be sure to sign up for the waiting list to secure your priority access. If you miss out, you can join the waiting list for the next camp!
What if there is an activity I don't want to do?
If there’s an activity you don’t want to participate in, that’s absolutely fine! The camp is all about your experience and comfort, so you can choose which activities to take part in. Our team will work with you to ensure that you enjoy the camp at your own pace, and you can opt for alternative activities or simply take some time to relax. We want you to feel empowered and have fun in a way that works best for you.
What happens if I need to cancel my booking?
If you need to cancel your booking, please refer to our cancellation policy, which will be provided at the time of booking. We understand that plans can change, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Please contact us as soon as possible so we can discuss your options.
Will there be medical support available at the camp?
Yes, we have medical support available throughout the camp. Our team is trained to handle emergencies and can assist with any medical or accessibility needs that may arise during your stay. What if I want to stay longer or arrive earlier than the scheduled camp dates?
We offer flexible arrival and departure dates, allowing you to arrive early or stay longer if you wish. You can explore more of Lanzarote on your own or simply enjoy some extra downtime. Just let us know when booking, and we’ll help arrange your extended stay.
