At U Can, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the thrill of water sports. That’s Why LanzAbility, the only accessible holiday provider for people with disabilities on Lanzarote, has partnered with Aô! Experience, the island’s sole adventure company offering a range of water -based excursions and activities for people with mobility restrictions, to create the first-ever adapted water sports camp.
This 7-day adventure is specifically designed for people with disabilities who want to engage in exciting water sports in a supportive, inclusive environment. From adapted kayaking and surfing to surf kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), every activity is tailored to meet your individual needs, with expert instructors and adaptive equipment to ensure an unforgettable experience.

How Does IT
WORK?
Before booking
1.Sign up for the waitlist:
To get early access to book your spot, simply sign up for the waitlist. This Will ensure you get priority before spots are opened to the public.
2.Schedule your personal call with us:
Once you’ve signed up, schedule a personal call with our team to discuss any questions or specific needs you may have about the camp and activities.
3.Secure your spot:
After your call, you can secure your place at the camp for only ex,XXX (which includes all activities, adapted transport, and snacks). Keep in mind, there are only 8 spots available, so act quickly to ensure you don’t miss out!.
Before Travelling
to Lanzarote:
1.Book your accessible flights:
Flights, transfers, and accommodation are available through World Accessible Holidays, who will assist you with all your travel logistics, including booking accessible flights and organising transport to and from the camp.
2.Book your adapted accommodation with LanzAbility:
Stay in fully accessible, comfortable accommodation just steps away from the beach. The rooms are designed to meet your specific needs, and meals are optionally included to ensure you’re energized and ready for each day’s adventure.
3.Get everything set and ready for takeoff:
Once your travel and accommodation are booked, we’ll help make sure everything is ready for you. Just double-check the details, pack your bags, and get excited for your unforgettable adventure in Lanzarote!

1.Check into your accommodation:
Upon arrival, check into your accessible accommodation and settle in before starting your adventure. Note: Arrival and departure can be flexible to fit your schedule, giving you the chance to explore even more of Lanzarote at your own pace.
2.Enjoy various activities every day:
Participate in daily adapted water sports activities, guided by experienced instructors and supported by our friendly team.
3.Fly back home with a suitcase full of unique memories:
After an unforgettable week, head home with cherished memories, new skills, and stories to share from your time at the camp.

The U Can – Adapted Water Sports Camp is designed for individuals with disabilities who want to enjoy a week of adventure, fun, and personal growth.
People with disabilities:
Whether you have a physical, sensory, or cognitive disability, the camp is tailored to meet your specific needs. We provide equipment, specialised support, and professional instructors to ensure you feel comfortable,
safe, and fully involved in the experience.
Beginners and experienced participants:
If you’ve never tried kayaking or surfing before, don’t worry! Our instructors will guide you every step of the way. If you’ve already tried water sports, we offer tailored activities that will challenge you and help you
refine your skills.
Age doesn’t matter:
We welcome adults and young people alike, ensuring that the activities are adapted to suit
each participant’s age and abilities.
Individuals who want to try adapted kayaking, paddleboarding, surfing. or other water sports in a safe. inclusive, and accessible environment.

While our camp is designed to be as inclusive as possible, there are certain medical conditions or disabilities that may require additional consideration or make participation in water sports challenging.

Severe respiratory conditions that make it difficult to safely engage in water activities
Severe cardiac conditions or other severe
health issues that may make physical

Gite, a Dutch woman in a wheelchair, had always dreamed of surfing but never thought it would be possible.
When she heard about U Can (collaboration between LanzAbility and Aô! Experience) in Lanzarote, she wasn’t sure what to expect. However, the team quickly made her feel at ease, and her instructor, Alessandro, adapted everything to her needs.
When Gite caught her first wave, she coudn’t believe it she was surfing! The experience gave her a new sense of achievement and confidence.

Jonas Van de Steene, a seasoned hand bike
competitor, had lived in Lanzarote for nearly a
decade but had never been on the ocean.
One day, after receiving an unexpected call, he
found himself at Famara Beach, ready to try surf
kayaking for the first time—a sport that combines
the thrill of surfing with the agility of kayaking.
With the help of the Crazy DAVID from LanzAbility
and Alessandro from Aõ! Experience, Jonas was
transferred from his wheelchair into a specially
designed surf kayak and paddled out onto the
waves. What made the day unforgettable was
Jonas’s remark:
«l’ve lived in Lanzarote for nearly ten years, and
this is my first time out on the ocean at Famara
Beach! Riding those waves—it was incredible!»

Trevor, who is totally blind, has always loved the
water, enjoying the sounds and movements of
the waves. When he tried stand-up
paddleboarding (SUP) for the first time, he was
guided by his companion’s instructions and the
feel of the board beneath him. «I think she was
more frightened of falling than I was!»

Not at all! The camp is designed for all levels, from
beginners to experienced participants. Our expert
instructors Will guide you every step of the way,
ensuring you have a fun, safe, and supportive experience regardless of your previous experience.
2. can I already reserve my spot at the camp?
Answer:
you can reserve your spot by signing up for the waitlist to get priority access, Once you’re on the waitlist, you’ll receive early access to secure your place before it opens to the public. Remember, there are only 8 spots available, so act quickly!
3. What is (not) included in the camp?
Answer:
The camp includes all adapted water sports activities with expert instructors, full access to equipment, and transport assistance or special needs support (if required). Accommodation, flights, meals, and other disability-related services are not included, as they vary based on individual needs and are arranged separately.
LanzAbility Will help you organise these, ensuring you get the flexibility to personalise your experience.
4. How do I arrange travel and flights?

5. What if I have a medical condition or disability that

Our team is committed to making the camp as
inclusive as possib/e. If you have any specific medical conditions or requirements, please reach out to us before booking so we can discuss how we can accommodate your needs and ensure a safe, enjoyable experience.
6. What happens if the camp is full?
Answer:
Once the 8 spots are filled, we won’t be able to accept further bookings. Be sure to sign up for the waitlist to secure your priority access. If you miss out, you can join the waitlist for the next camp!
7. What if there is an activity I don't want to do?
Answer:
If there’s an activity you don’t want to participate in,
that’s absolutely fine! The camp is all about your
experience and comfort, so you can choose which
activities to take part in. Our team Will work with you to ensure that you enjoy the camp at your own pace, and you can opt for alternative activities or simply take some time to relax. We want you to feel empowered and have fun in a way that works best for you.
8. What happens if I need to cancel my booking?

If you need to cancel your booking, please refer to our cancellation policy, which Will be provided at the time of booking. we understand that plans can change, and we Will do our best to accommodate your needs. Please contact us as soon as possible so we can discuss your options.
9. Will there be medical support available at the camp?

10. What if I want to stay longer or arrive earlier than the scheduled camp dates?
